Our Team
Allen’s Jewelers is a family-run retail store that has been in business for over 35 years. Our first location was in Myers Park, Charlotte NC where we operated for over 20 years. In 2014 we moved into the Cotswold area.
Allen’s is owned and operated by Karen Allen. Karen is a Certified Gemologist with the American Gem Society and a Graduate Gemologist with the Gemological Institute of America. We are known for our quality work, high standards, and one-on-one approach to finding the right piece. We also love designing and often create one-of-a-kind, custom jewelry. Allen’s is an American Gem Society Member Store, and we strive to uphold the highest of ethics and customer service. As the ‘hidden gem’ of Charlotte, we treasure our community and customers with whom we have built relationships that span generations.
Karen Allen
Owner
Karen Allen started Allen’s Jewelers in 1989 and has been sharing her passion for jewelry with her customers ever since. She is the main designer for customers looking to create an elegant and custom creation. She’s highly educated as a CG from AGS and a GG from GIA. Her AGS member store is one of the few in the Charlotte area.
Lauren Allen-Raynard
Jewelry Associate
Lauren has been working alongside Karen as a mother-daughter duo since 2014. As our diamond specialist, she often works with our engagement couples. She is a Certified Sales Associate with AGS and is a Graduate Gemologist with the Gemological Institute of America.
Nancy Kukol
Jewelry Associate & Jeweler
Nancy has been working with Allen’s for over 20 years. She’s worked on repairs and watches for many years and now uses her expertise to help customers on the sales floor. She can change a battery or adjust links on a watch strap while you wait.
Jackie Allen
Photographer & Administrator
Jackie has 12 years of experience in commercial photography & e-commerce all over from NYC to London, UK. Since coming back to Charlotte in 2020, she has focused on creating beautiful imagery for our ads, social media, and sales promotions. She even designed and built this website! When she isn’t photographing for us, she’s assisting Karen with business management.
Han Dang
Head Jeweler
Han has worked in jewelry for 20+ years and has been a jeweler with Allen’s for the past seven years. He started as an apprentice in Vietnam and now works on our repairs, resizing, custom designs, etc. He loves jewelry making and takes pride in bringing custom pieces to life.
Candy Haynie
Jewelry Associate
Candy has been with Allen’s since our previous location in Myers Park. She brings warmth and charm to the store, and is always ready to help pick the perfect gift or answer a repair question. She also in charge of our in-house pearl and bead stringing.

As our chief of customer engagement, Alfie greeted everyone that walked into Allen’s for about ten years. You could often catch him following customers around to ensure they felt tended to. Familiar faces were sure to get an extra tail wag. He was well loved by family and friends and we will miss him dearly.
